I am a Specialist Clinical Psychologist with a doctoral degree from Royal Holloway, University of London and more than ten years of experience working in psychology and mental health.
I work with people who struggle with a range of difficulties, including mental health conditions like depression and anxiety, as well as difficulties relating to everyday life including work stress, relationship and communication problems, adjustment to life changes, bereavement and other losses, and sleep disturbance.
My specialist area of expertise is working with people who have experienced trauma (e.g. accidents, assaults, abuse and neglect), and who struggle with distressing memories, thoughts and feelings relating to these experiences.
I work part-time at a NHS trauma service supporting people who suffer the effects of severe trauma such as childhood abuse or neglect, domestic violence, torture, trafficking and war-related trauma. I also conduct witness interviews with children who have disclosed sexual abuse in collaboration with The Metropolitan Police.
My clients describe me as warm, caring and professional. I work flexibly to tailor treatment to meet your individual needs, and create a safe space to make sense of your difficulties.
I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), compassion-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques. I am also trained and experienced in the use of Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
I have expertise in medico-legal work relating to trauma and complete medico-legal assessments and reports for asylum, personal injury and compensation cases.
I am registered withthe Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist (registration number: PYL32582). Initial telephone consultation is free after which I charge the standard clinical psychology rate of £100 per 50 minute session; £150 per 80 minute session.
