I am a BACP accredited and registered psychodynamic counsellor. As well as private work. I work part-time, as a part voluntary and part paid counsellor at a counselling centre in North London; I have been working there since 1998. I have worked with many different clients with a variety of problems over the years. I have also been trained in bereavement counselling and have previously worked for a bereavement service. In the past I worked for three years at a youth counselling centre for the 16 to 25 age group.

My work

My work includes one to one work with individuals, for either long term for up to two years or short term for 12 weeks, to focus on a specific issue. I mainly do psychodynamic work which involves the client being willing to look at their childhood and early relationships with their care givers. This is a talking therapy, where we look at not only what you are conscious of, but try to bring to light some of the things that you have been unconscious of. It is about exploring patterns of behavior, emotions and ways in which you relate to others, as well as feelings and beliefs you have about yourself.

Training

I hold a Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling.
For my own learning and development and as a requirement of the BACP I do a certain amount of continuous professional development work every year. In 2014 I completed a course in the Foundations of Analytical Psychology.

I abide by the BACP Code of Ethics.
